Vatican, CRS, & ND announce Impact Investing conference
Rome, Italy – The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Peace and Justice (PCPJ), Catholic Relief Services (CRS), and the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business will convene the first Vatican sponsored Impact Investing Conference in Rome, Italy on June 16-17, 2014. Responding directly to Pope Francis’ challenge to find ways to use wealth to help people out of poverty, the “Investing for the Poor” symposium aims to unlock the power of public and private capital to complement philanthropy as part of fighting poverty and promoting positive social change.
